Did you know legend has it the ghost of Carole Lombard advised Lucille Ball to do a series? The two had been best friends in life and that friendship reportedly continued even after Lombard's tragic death.
This play borrows that legend and real-life events in the lives of these two icons to imagine the evening Lombard visited Lucy to offer a career suggestion that would change the course of television history.
It's a sweet story of an everlasting friendship - with a little Hollywood lore sprinkled in for good measure!
Never Say Goodbye: An Evening with Lombard and Lucy will follow the revival of The Marie Defense during the same evening. Your ticket gets you into both shows.
* The play was previously workshopped in 2022 as part of the Cumberland Theatre's New Play Reading Series. The Embassy production will be the first time the play has been produced completely with hair, makeup, costumes and a nostalgic set audience members will find instantly familiar!
This is Shane Riggs' first original stage play in 15 years! (He's apparently been a little busy!)
